Next Sunday the 27th October Lagos celebrates a City Day in honour of its patron Saint São Gonçalo de Lagos.
São Gonçalo was born in 1360 and dedicated his life to preaching and practicing charity. In 1798 he was beatified. São Gonçalo was known above all for the veneration from the Algarve fishermen who sought protection while at sea.
