Next Sunday the 27th October Lagos celebrates a City Day in honour of its patron Saint S\u00e3o Gon\u00e7alo de Lagos.
S\u00e3o Gon\u00e7alo was born in 1360 and dedicated his life to preaching and practicing charity. In 1798 he was beatified. S\u00e3o Gon\u00e7alo was known above all for the veneration from the Algarve fishermen who sought protection while at sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
